The History Of Sleepeezee Beds
Originally a family business, Sleepeezee beds was founded around 1915 and produced mainly flock or hair mattresses, pillows and bed bases.
Ten years later, the spring interior mattress was invented and Sleepeezee was one of the first to pioneer production of these mattresses. As a result, the company soon expanded to have four factories in and around London.
Today's bed bases, on legs or castors, were also a Sleepeezee innovation and were soon adapted by the rest of the industry.
The tradition of 'firsts' has continued ever since. In 1963 Sleepeezee beds were the first pocketed manufacturer to be awarded a Royal Warrant for supplying beds to Her Majesty The Queen. In 1992 Sleepeezee beds were first with BS EN ISO 9000 for excellence in quality and service.
In 1964, the family business was bought by the Simmons company of America, and the four factories were amalgamated into one some eight years later.
By the mid 1980;s Simmons introduced the current Beautyrest system - technically superior to every other type of pocketed spring. Which Sleepeezee have used ever since.
Beautyrest is now officially the World's best selling pocketed spring system. Manufactured in some twenty two countries. Sleepeezee beds is now the UK's largest producer of pocketed spring beds and continually invests considerable sums into new plant and equipment.
