Sealy began trading in the USA but quickly started up a UK operation and in 1974 moved into its new manufacturing plant in Aspatria, West Cumbria. This manufacturing plant now produces over 3500 beds a week and employs over 400 people. Sealy invest more time and money than any other bed manufacturer into the development of new products and have a state of the art research and testing laboratories located in North Carolina. This continued investment has seen Sealy win numerous awards over the last few decades including winning the prestigious bed of the year on 2 separate occasions.
Part of Sealy’s continued success is their unique spring system used in all its posturepedic mattresses. The 3 tier sleep system enables each compartment of the bed to work in harmony, producing longer lasting comfort and support.
The first tier of this spring system is what the body will feel the most and with a mixture of different fillings and layers Sealy have made sure there is a choice for all requirements.
The second tier is the back support system, a unique hinging action of offset springs allowing the springs to follow the contours of the body and offer edge to edge support.
