To make sure we can collect your old mattress, we will kindly ask you to wrap it up ready for the delivery team to collect so that we can pick it up as quickly and safely as possible.
The delivery team will supply one collection label per mattress, so please ensure you do not exceed 1 consignment for collection.
How to prepare for a divan base collection
To ensure we can collect your old divan base for recycling, we will kindly ask you to dismantle the item and wrap it up in advance fully. Your divan base should be empty, half-bases should be unlinked, and any headboard removed.
Bedstar will supply the delivery team with a maximum of 4 collection labels, so please ensure you do not exceed 4 consignments for collection.
How to prepare for a divan base collection
To ensure we can collect your old bed frame for recycling, we will kindly ask you to dismantle the item and wrap it up in advance fully. Please present the bed frame for collection in a maximum of 4 consignments.
Bedstar will supply the delivery team with a maximum of 4 collection labels, so please ensure you do not exceed 4 consignments for collection.
Items must be ready for collection at the time of delivery.

- Please have any items ready for collection as outlined above before the delivery team arrives.
- Provided that all the items to be collected are wrapped up accordingly, we will be happy to collect them for you during the course of our visit.
- Unfortunately, we will not be able to take any items that are not prepared as per the above instructions or that are not yet ready to be collected. All goods should be fully wrapped, collected from inside the property and dry. Any goods left outside / Not wrapped and or wet will result in a failed collection. A further collection will need to be booked and incur a further charge
Where are you taking my old items?
As soon as we collect your old items, we will take them to a dedicated recycling base, so you can rest assured that your new purchase didn`t harm the environment.
Why its so important to recycle!
Using recycled steel to make new steel enables reductions that are vital to our environments, such as 86% in air pollution and 76% in water pollution. EU figures indicate that using recycled raw materials, including metals, cuts CO2 emissions by some 200 million tonnes every year.
Mattresses pose a significant burden on landfills. Each mattress occupies approximately 23 cubic feet of landfill space and does not degrade as quickly as other domestic waste. By recycling mattresses, we contribute to a real reduction in the ever-increasing pressure on landfill sites across the United Kingdom.
Mattresses and bases are manually stripped down and separated into their recyclable parts, including springs, polyurethane foam, cotton fibre and sisal fibre.
