How much does bed assembly cost?

For example, a standard/double bed takes around 45 minutes there minimum charge is 1 hour for £52. Screwdriver professionals carry all the necessary tools and are covered by Public Indemnity insurance for your complete peace of mind.

How does the service work?

Call Screwdriver on freephone 0800 454828 or contact them through their online form
Tell them which flatpack item you’ve purchased, giving them as much information as possible (retailer, product name, product code, catalogue page if relevant etc.)
If the item is in their flatpack database (and most of them are), they we’ll give you an instant fixed price itemised quote for their assembly service.
If you’d like to proceed, they we’ll agree the date and time of their visit. They will also provide you with an estimate of how long the assembly will take and the name of your Screwdriver professional so you can check their ID on arrival.
Sit back and relax. Their on the way. And in the unlikely event that there should be a delay, they we’ll call you to let you know when to expect them.

Please take the following steps to ensure our operative can do an efficient and effective assembly.

Make sure the delivery persons place boxes in the room where the finished product will stand or outside the door on the same level of the house.

Check the packing list/invoice to confirm that everything has been delivered and is in good condition. Any apparent damage to packaging should be checked since items inside may be damaged.

If you discover an incomplete or damaged delivery, call their office to reschedule your assembly. If items are missing or damaged and the job cannot be completed,their minimum call-out charge of £52 will apply.

Move existing furniture, if necessary, to clear adequate space for assembly.

How long does bed assembly take?

The time required to assemble a bed generally ranges from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the bed type.

Simple frames (e.g., standard divan or metal frames): 30–45 minutes
Ottoman or storage beds: 1–2 hours (due to extra components)
Bunk beds or intricate designs: 1.5–2.5 hours

Do I need to be home during the assembly?

Yes, we recommend having someone present during the bed assembly. This ensures:

Access to the property – Our team will need entry to the room where the bed will be assembled.
Confirmation of placement – You can verify the exact positioning of the bed.
Inspection – You can review the completed assembly and ensure everything is set up correctly.

If you’re unable to be home, you can arrange for someone to be there on your behalf. In some cases, we may offer unattended assembly if access is pre-arranged—please let us know your preference when booking!

Do you remove packaging after assembly?

No, we do not remove packaging after assembly. However, we ensure that all packaging is neatly gathered and left in a convenient location for disposal.

If you need packaging removal, we recommend checking with your local waste disposal services or arranging for collection separately. options!

Can I reschedule or cancel my assembly appointment?

Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your assembly appointment, but we advise doing so as early as possible.

Rescheduling:

You can reschedule up to 24 hours in advance to secure a new time slot.
Same-day rescheduling is possible but subject to availability.

Cancellation:

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the appointment may qualify for a full refund or no penalty.
Last-minute cancellations may result in a fee.

Can you adjust the bed height or modify the setup?

The possibility of adjustments depends on the bed type and the modifications required:

Adjustable Options:

Some beds, like divan bases, offer height adjustments (e.g., using different leg options).
Ottoman and storage beds typically have fixed heights, but we can ensure they are assembled correctly.

Non-Modifiable Setups:

Screwdriver cannot cut or alter bed frames, drill new holes, or modify the manufacturer's design.
Custom modifications may void warranties, so we recommend verifying this before making any changes.
