The key differences are support, temperature, and bounce. A pure memory foam mattress provides deep, full-body contouring but can feel warm and make it harder to move during the night. Higher counts — 1,500 to 3,000 — provide more refined, targeted support and better motion isolation between partners. That said, spring count is only one factor. The quality and gauge of the springs, the depth and density of the foam layers, and the overall build quality all contribute more to how the mattress performs than the spring count alone.

Hybrid mattresses are an excellent choice for couples, for two reasons. First, the individually pocketed springs respond independently to movement, so when one partner shifts position during the night the other is far less likely to feel it. Second, the foam comfort layers contour to each person's individual body shape and weight, meaning two people of different sizes or sleeping positions can both sleep comfortably on the same mattress.
