Measured in metric units, a king size bed and mattress is 150cm wide and 200cm long. Converted to imperial units, a king size bed and mattress is 5 feet wide and 6 feet 6 inches long. A standard ‘King Size’ (5’0”) bed includes a longer length than the standard ‘double’ bed and mattress - 6’6” instead of 6’3”.

How do i choose a childrens mattress?

When purchasing a single mattress for your child, you should take into account their age, size and how they feel in their current bed. If your child complains about a lack of space in their small-single mattress then you should definitely consider moving them up to a single mattress. Alternatively, if your child feels swamped in their children’s single mattress, then maybe moving them down to a small-single mattress might make them feel more comfortable at night.
