The Best Wearable Sleep Trackers In 2022

Sleep Trackers

Wearable sleep trackers are fantastic for understanding your sleep habits, but there are so many that it’s difficult to know where to start. This article reveals the best wearable sleep trackers in 2022 based on what we wear, giving you several unique ideas.

Let’s jump in!

Xiaomi Mi Band 4

The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is the best cheap sleep tracker you can buy, costing around £40 with better features than devices costing double.

It has heart rate tracking, SPo2 tracking, and movement tracking, which combine to provide accurate sleep data, including:

  • Duration
  • Fall asleep time
  • Wake up time

The .95-inch AMOLED touchscreen is glorious, with a crisp 120 x 240 (282ppi) resolution and excellent responsiveness. Best of all, you can configure the band for raise to wake or double tap to wake and set up screen brightness schedules.

The battery life is fantastic, with the official 20-day battery lasting two weeks in the real world. Set up and updates are via the Zepp Life app (iOS/Android), and you can set custom faces and the menus and features you want.

Overall, this trusty sleep tracker is so cheap you can also buy one for your partner. Why pay more for a Fitbit that does the same thing?

Poco Watch

If you want a bigger screen than the Mi Band 4's, get a load of the Poco watch produced by Xiaomi spin-off brand Poco.

Priced at £79.99, the Poco Watch offers the same sleep and fitness tracking features as the Mi Band 4 but has an Apple Watch-esque form factor.

The 1.6” AMOLED display has a 360 x 320 (301 PPI) resolution and a faster processor than the Mi Band 4 to keep things snappy. Another reason to choose the Poco Watch is it is only 9.98mm thick, so it is barely raised on the wrist.

The sleep tracking is highly accurate, and you can set a silent vibration alarm as with the Mi Band, helping you wake gently rather than with a scare.

You can also set up smartphone notifications on the Poco Watch, but they are read-only, so we recommend disabling them and sticking to the tracking.

Fitbit Inspire 2

The Fitbit Inspire 2 offers excellent value at £50 and delivers the polished hardware/software experience you expect from such a famous brand.

This sleep tracker breaks down every sleep session into light, deep, and REM sleep, providing accurate insights into how much time you spend in them.

It’s important to note that every Fitbit offers this data – but the Inspire 2 is the cheapest option to do so reliably. It records sleep data automatically, and you can access graphs and demographic comparisons in the Fitbit app.

This is a solid choice if you want a cheap sleep/fitness tracker from a mainstream brand or if you have an older Fitbit and want to stick to them.

Oura Ring

Don’t fancy a sleep tracker on your wrist? Then how about on your finger?

The Oura Ring is as discreet as possible – a stainless steel smart ring equipped with heart rate, body temperature, SPo2, and movement sensors. It translates data from these sensors into a sleep score, giving you a snapshot of your sleep health.

Like a fitness band or smartwatch, the Oura Ring tracks steps and distance, although you must access the Oura app to view data. The ring charges on a proprietary wireless pad, which is included with every purchase.

The ring is available in four colours – silver, black, stealth, and gold – and we love the black version. The downside is the price – it costs over £300 – and there is a monthly membership (payable after six months) if you want to access tailored insights.

Kokoon Nightbuds

We end our list with a wild card and the best sleep tracker to listen to relaxing sounds, audiobooks, and music before bedtime.

The Kokoon Nightbuds bring audio and sleep tracking together. One of the earpieces contains sleep tracking sensors, and the earbuds and cables are designed to compress and squish so you don’t feel them in bed.

Sleep tracking is basic, limited to the duration of your sleep and how long you spend in each sleep stage. However, this might be all you want.

At £160 (or thereabouts), these are a pricy investment, but no other earphones track your sleep. Another option is the Kokoon EEG Headphones, which have EEG (electroencephalogram) sensors that can track and measure your brainwaves as you sleep.
