Assembling a new bed can sometimes feel like a mammoth task, but putting together a ottoman bed is much simpler than it looks. This straightforward guide will walk you through the process step-by-step so you can have the bed of your dreams ready for a perfect night's sleep in no time.
Preparation: What You Need
Before you begin, carefully remove all packaging. Inside the sections of your bed, you will find plastic bags containing the necessary hardware.
Tools Required:
- A 13mm spanner
What’s in the Bag:
- Gliders: 6 for single bases, or 8 (4 per half) for larger bases.
- Headboard Bolts: 4 for single bases, or 4 (2 per half) for larger bases.
- Spacers: 4 for single bases, or 4 (2 per half) for larger bases.
- Joining Hardware (for two-section beds only): 2 joining clips and 1 lid-joining bolt.

Gliders (x6 for single bases or x4 per half for larger bases)

Headboard Bolts (x4 for single bases or x2 per half for larger bases)

Spacers (x4 for single bases or x2 per half for larger bases)

Bases with two sections will include (x2 joining clips and x1 lid joining bolt)
Assembly Instructions
1. Fit the Gliders: Secure these before lifting the base.
The very first step is to attach the gliders (the feet) to the bottom of the divan base. Carefully push one glider into each of the pre-drilled corner sockets until they are firmly in place.
2.Engage the Hydraulics: Requires your 13mm spanner.
The gas struts that lift the bed are already partially installed, but they need to be secured to function properly.
- Remove the nut from the upper hinge mechanism.
- Pivot the gas strut upwards and position the eyelet over the threaded bolt where you just removed the nut.
- Place the nut back onto the thread and tighten it securely using your 13mm spanner.
- Check the nut positioned at the bottom of the gas strut and ensure it is also tightened at this stage.
Note: If you have a larger bed with a second hydraulic section, repeat this exact process on the other side.
3.Connect the Base Sections:
Skip this step if you have a single bed.
If your bed comes in two halves, you will need to link them together for structural stability.
- Push both sections of the base firmly together.
- Connect the bases using the provided joining clips (often U-shaped clips that slide over the edges underneath).
- Next, join the lifting lids together using the small lid-joining bolt. You will find a dedicated recess on the inside edge of one section where this bolt screws in to lock the lids in unison.
4.Attach the Headboard:
How you attach the headboard depends on the style you have purchased.
For Floor-Standing Headboards:
- Locate the headboard bolt holes on your base (these are usually marked with a sticker).
- Push the headboard bolts through the vertical slots in your headboard.
- Place a spacer onto the bolt (between the base and the headboard), insert the bolt into the base hole, and tighten it firmly in place.
For Headboards with Struts (Wooden Legs):
- Remove the spacers from the headboard bolts (you won't need them for this style).
- Find the bolt holes on your ottoman base—they are typically located about 15cm from the outer edges.
- Screw the bolts loosely into the base holes, slide the headboard struts onto the bolts, adjust to your desired height, and tighten everything down.
